TaxiTrack / CAS
July 14th, 2008 | by AlexIn March 2008 we were approached by Complementary Application Solutions to develop a web-based application allowing the online booking, tracking and despatching of Taxis.
Built on an n-tier architecture allows the system to be robust, scalable and high performing. Storing all data in a MySQL database and using Object Oriented PHP coding allows the application to be tuned and optimized in rapid time.
Integrating the application with Google Maps allows the user to view the taxi’s location in real-time, and also allows the booking system to check if the departure and destination address exists. The system can also suggest to the user which taxi should be allocated to a certain booking depending on specified criteria.
We developed 3 different sections of the application:
- Driver App - the Taxi Drivers login to this application to pick up their jobs, book jobs and update their current location.
- Office App - the hub of the application that allows the drivers to be managed, bookings to be allocated and detailed reports to be run on any variable stored.
- Online Booking System - the customer facing side of the application where customers can book a taxi then track it’s progress. The taxi’s location, once allocated, is displayed on a map with an estimated time of arrival being displayed.
Below you will find some various screenshots of the application. There will be a fully functioning demo available shortly. Please come back in the future for further details or contact us for more information.
